Hi I am new here with a tiny little kit we found on our wheel barrel in our garage on Monday.
My husband shoo'd away the mama before closing the garage door for the night on Sunday with no idea she had just dropped off a baby.
We see this mama cat all the time roaming the neighborhood, but sadly, have not seen her since Sunday night when my husband found her in our garage.
We were having some bad weather here over the weekend, major storms, tornado like activity around us, so I am sure she was trying to get her baby to a safe place.
We discovered the baby Monday morning crying and put two and two together.
We tried to leave the baby in the wheel barrow and opened the garage back up, but the baby fell out of the wheel barrow! We did not think it would get out!
SO we put it in a box and brought it in to check it out called our vet (we have dogs).
They told us to put the baby back out in the evening in the box and see if the mama would come back for her baby.
We did this from 6-9 pm, but the wacky weather we were having had temps dropping to the high 40's over night and it was getting cold.
So we brought kitty in.
Now "Kittee" is here with us and we have been scouring the web educating ourselves and using the kitty glop.
We go see the vet tomorrow.
Kittee is probably 2-3 weeks old.
Kittee's umbilical cord fell off late night Monday after I was rubbing her tummy to get her to go potty after feeding (I know I keep saying *her*-but have no idea!). Her ears are still tucked but her eyes are open and she purrs like a full cat house! She tries to walk around but is very wobbly.
Is eating well and sleeping lots. She is urinating for me when I stimulate her. We have has some tiny tiny poos nothing solid..not diarrhea either.
We made a kitty pouch and she is on me most of the day.
She sleeps all night and never mews unless I touch her, she wakes and wants to eat.
I guess I am wondering should I wake her thru the night and feed her?
