Sir Meowington has had this bump growing on his head in his hair for the past week and a half. And it out grew the hair and looks terrifying. I’m scared because websites talk about tumors and cancer. Someone please help a cat father out 5FBB9E5B-CC2B-4333-999D-0DDBCA31A32E.jpeg

Okay kitty needs to see the vet. It could be anything from an injury he's done, to a bug bite, to an allergy, from something benign, to something else not so benign at all - but it does look like it's getting infected too.. That is reason enough to bring Sir Meowington to the Doc.

Not the answer you want I know but it's a vet visit. No way around this. Sorry.

Edit to add: or what LTS3 LTS3 Pics are always a good start always an option... but like LT - I think vet visit will most likely be needed.

Sir Meowington needs to see a vet, and as soon as you can. Whatever this is, and it could be any of the things mentioned above, the sooner it is seen, the better. And remember, as scary as cancer, some are very treatable...when they are caught early.

First, welcome to TCS! :wave3: I'm glad you joined the site. However, since you're asking for advice I agree with all the above members that your cat definitely needs to be seen by a veterinarian or a dermatology specialist. As you mentioned the bump is growing and, therefore, will not get better without the proper medical treatment.

I thought this Article about skin conditions in cats might have some helpful information for you:

Fingers crossed you can get an appointment with your vet soon and please keep us updated. :crossfingers:

Vet said it’s a wart or mole. No way will I pay to have my gato tortured for $600 in order to have it removed.
Did the vet give you any other options or suggest something to put on it? You can always get a second opinion if you're not satisfied or have any doubts. Best of luck!

Hi, thanks guys. Vet said it’s a wart or mole. No way will I pay to have my gato tortured for $600 in order to have it removed.
That is wonderful news! Of all the things that could have been... WOOOOOO HOOOOO  :hyper::cheerleader::clap::clap2:

I agree - I wouldn't put my babies thought it either if it was cosmetic - and no chance of going bad on them.

Thank for coming back and updating us. XOXOX

Shortly after warts were discovered, I had one frozen off. The doctor dipped a long cotton swab into a thermos filled with liquid nitrogen. Then applied the swab to my wart. Then gave me a topocal cream to prevent infection. The wart was gone in about ten days. No pain. All of the warts I had were almost with out feeling.

Now days, here are topical creams, prescription and over the counter for wart removal.

Did the vet tell you what the treatment would be? May be quite painless. And inexpensive.
