I recently lost a kitten named Snowshoe, he was only about four months old, however.......we also lost his siblings so clearly we will not be taking in any more cats from those particular people. I can also somewhat blame my partner for Snowshoe at least passing. He had his first bath with us, and dunked his head because he was panicking, I also think my partner was not so smart to bathe him in the tub rather than the sink. Anyways, Snowshoe got an ear infection, that my partner being themself we tried to treat it using natural methods, which did not work. When I finally convinced said partner that Snowshoe DID need to go to the vet the ear infection had progressed so much that it had burst his ear drum. Snowshoe did well for a bit, on antibiotics then because my partner thought the infection was gone we stopped using them, again Snowshoe was doing okay for a bit. But he took a turn for the worse, started having seizures, gums got pale, not eating much. So I took him back in, he was severely anemic, so me being a well meaning pet mommy followed the advice the vet gave me to feed him chicken livers to try to enrich his blood, put him on some Kitten replacement milk, and basically did whatever I could think of to do, but he ended up having a series of seizures that he did not survive. I kept his tag. He was supposed to get the last of his kitten shots this past friday........only a week after he had last seen the vet.
