That's my assignment for Saturday. Five batches of each. Not dozens....batches.
My sister, my niece, and my nephew's SO (and her mother) and I are in this cookie exchange. My niece's favorite cookie, bar none, is snickerdoodles (and just who does that remind us of, eh?). Seems I'm the snickerdoodle whiz around here. We need the cookies by December 6, but I'm not making that many cookies at night after work, so I'm going to make them this Saturday. That's really only four batches of each, but there's no way I can make snickerdoodles and not make a batch for Dear Richard. And when he found out about the gingersnaps, he asked for a batch of those, "while you're making them".
Will somebody please come help me bake cookies on Saturday? We're going to my sister's on Saturday for dinner and, since I'm not going to be around next weekend (Rick is taking me to see Billy Joel next Friday night and we're thinking about spending the night out in State College instead of coming home late), that means I must bake this Saturday.
Both snickerdoodles and gingersnaps are easily frozen, so they can take them to their homes and throw them in the freezers. Although I have serious doubts that my niece's snicks will last that long.
And I just found out that my nephew's SO has two sisters who also love to bake and who also would love to do the cookie exchange next year. That means seven batches of each next year. Oy
