Smoke? Or Is This The Norm For Colorpoints?

I don’t know if a smoke coat is even possible in colorpoints or not. It seems logical to me that they would naturally have lighter fur at the base since that’s closer to their body and therefore warmer, and it has nothing to do with the inhibitor gene.

So what do you think? Normal for a colorpoint? Or is this smoke?

Just curious as I’ve been reading about color genetics and find it all very fascinating!

Looks like a silver/smoke to me. Yes, colorpoint cats can be silver/smoke.

Thanks! I realized after posting that I was using the wrong terminology and he would be silver, not smoke.
