Seriously. Can't I just join the ranks of the normal adults?! I mean, I already work two part-time jobs (so basically, a full-time, only I like both of my jobs for the most part- even with the puppy from hell- and couldn't choose between them), I already pay my bills and get up early in the morning and clean my house weekly and vacuum daily and iron my clothes etc, etc, etc, so when can I add the exciting parts, like having normal friends?
I'm trying really, really hard to throw a small X-mas party. I want a guest-list with people who RSVP, maybe some invitations, you know, cocktails and people mingling, and hors d'ouvres....
No. It just doesn't happen in college. You can either throw a kegger with 200 of your closest friends and horrendous music turned up so loud no one can hear themselves think, or you have nothing. I want my party to start at 7, but in college parties don't start before 9 or 10. I want people to tell me whether or not they will be there, not just say "Ok, cool, maybe we'll drop by".
uuuuuuuggggghhhhhh!!!! Graduation is only 6.5 months away. The wedding is only 13 months away (actually, 13 months from TODAY!). I'm so ready to land a job and have married friends and do real adult things like have parties where people tell me if they're coming so that I can purchase the correct amount of food. So frustrating!
Ok, end of silly little rant. I'm sure someone will tell me that these are the best years of my life or something, but really, I was over the whole college thing after my freshman year. Then I was ready for everyone to grow up and learn how to make decisions. bbbblllllaaaahhhhhh!
