Definitely have the vet look at it, but it's probably just a cyst or lipoma (benign fatty tumor). My parents dog had a lipoma under his armpit, and it never bothered him. Spot has a cyst on his back that reoccurs. When it gets large or seems to bother him, the vet drains it with a needle. How old is your kitty? Was she outdoors at some point? Spot is my foundling, and he was outside for who-knows how long before I took him home. He has a second lump in his shoulder which is much more solid. An x-ray (for a separate medical condition) showed it was a BB. There are all kinds of things that can cause lumps or bumps on cats, and a lot of them are harmless (Spot's BB doesn't bother him, so we've left it alone). Let us know what the vet says.Originally Posted by VanessaB25
I'm just a little bit freaked out at the moment - I was giving my baby loves last night and just above her arm or near her armpit I felt a small growth or lump...I'm taking her to the vet on Sat anyway to have her stitches taken out, so I'll get them to check it out while I'm there. I'm so scared - I hope it's nothing serious
