One of our fosters brought back their litter because one of the kittens was not doing well. She was emaciated, dehydrated, and anemic, and her litter-mates were pushy and unintentionally not allowing her to eat. I took her home to fatten her up.
She's gaining weight, and is no longer dehydrated and is getting a tiny bit of color back.
BUT she also has a slightly watery belly.
Her fecal revealed coccidia, which she is being treated for.
I was thinking wet FIP, which we see often enough with kittens at my shelter, but she's active, eating well, not lethargic or having breathing difficulties. She DOES have watery poop, but it comes and goes.
Her watery belly also hardens and softens intermittently.
I suppose we won't know for sure until a vet looks inside - I hope I can keep her going until she's big enough to get spayed. But I was wondering if anyone had experienced this before, an otherwise happy, active kitten with a watery belly?
Thanks, all
