Tails jumped onto a bookshelf that had a jar candle on it, and walked past the candle too closely so the fur on his side is singed. It smells really bad, as burning hair always does. What should I do? The smell has to be annoying to a cat with a nose 1,000 times better than mine. Should I trim the fur a tiny bit to get rid of the singed ends, or wash the fur, or do nothing?
This is what it looks like, the singed part is just in front of his back leg. He's fine otherwise; his fur is really thick for a short haired cat.
