I sure did! I thought about the very conversation you and I had after she took her flying leap! When I was so scared Sierra was hurt, I thought about what you and I discussed and what I would say to someone else, what to check over and observe, and it really helped me feel better and realize she was ok! Guess logic will do that for you, but sometimes, it's difficult to be logical!

And you're right... sometimes it can be difficult to be logical. I guess we don't give cats the credit they deserve, we just think that if WE had done that, we would be hurt and assume they are hurt too. But Miss Sierra and Miss Baylee are ladies and know how to fall gracefully!

Poor girl, I hope her tummy has settled. Do you raise up her food when she eats? I have to do that with Roo, because when she eats off of the floor more often than not she'll throw it up.

Yes, Diane, thank you for that suggestion. Sierra's crystal dish is elevated on a lovely stand! It was one of her Christmas presents!

Perhaps Roo would like to have a stand for her dish also!

They do scare us sometiimes - Ellie climbed one of my drapes and then fell off and walked away. But I was terrified. I am glad Sierra is doing OK.

Work has been crazy lately so I haven't been getting my Sierra updates regularly. I keep you and her in prayers, of course -- I hope you know that.

Will you put Sierra on a special diet for IBS (is that Irritable Bowel Syndrome?) When will you know if that's what it is? Do you have to do an endoscopy to find out?

In any case, I'm encouraged to hear that IBS is treatable.

I chuckled at your story of turning your head to pretend you didn't see that Sierra slipped -- smart move. Penelope's pride always seems wounded when she leaps for a counter or dresser and doesn't make it. Maybe that's because I immediately gasp and run to her to check and make sure she's okay (and she always is). I've obviously not learned the art of practicing nonchalance before checking to see she's okay! I will try and start doing that!

Stephanie, I hesitate to post this, but you may have already seen the thread I started. A friend's 15-year-old Maine Coon, who had always gotten premium food, started vomiting regularly after eating. He endured a whole battery of tests, with no results. The vet told my friend to give him Whiska's Senior canned food (!), and he manages to keep that down, and is doing quite well. It sounds crazy, doesn't it?

Of course we know we are always in your thoughts and prayers, Colleen, as you, Penelope and Molly are in ours! I am in the process of learning more about Irritable Bowel Syndrome and the best diets.

I want to have all my facts together before discussing diagnostics and treatment options with her Specialist. I definitely would prefer to not put her through further testing at this time, so I'm hoping we can treat her symptoms without the endoscopy and ultrasound. Poor Penelope, I know what you mean, their pride surely is damaged, if only shortly, when they momentary slip from their usual graceful splendor!

Thank you to all who have checked in on Sierra and sent all of your well wishes the past few days!

I stayed home from work with Sierra Sat. night, and after a couple of not feel so great days, Sierra could hardly wait to eat her dinner before work last night! This morning when I arrived home, she greeted me at the door telling me all about her night! Then we had our special cuddle time after which she enthusiastically enjoyed her breakfast!

Just a bit ago, we had a wonderfully fun play time with her favorite toy right now, which is really funny, because it's the remains of one of her toys that fell apart! It's just an elastic string hanging from a pole! She chases it all over, up and around, rolls over, holds on to the string with her hands and kicks it with her feet!

So precious!

As I type this, she's trying to get into my black eyed peas, one of her favorites since she was a baby. We're having a great day!

In a little while, we will go try to get a bit of sleep before tonight's shift. Thank you, again, each of you, for all of your love and support, where would we be without you!

Actually, my colleague has a cat who went through terrible bouts of explosive diarrhea. They tried everything until a friend suggested they try some of the cheaper commercial food (I guess it's more processed?) Now, the cat eats Fancy Feast fish meals everyday and is fine. Go figure.

I was told that once when I had a kitten. Apparently it's not so rich (in protein?), so counts more as bland food.

Sierra had another wonderful day yesterday!

How great is this! She ate well, and we had such fun playing! Her toy of choice is still her string on the end of that pole! You'd think she didn't have toys all over the house, just one broken down toy!

I've decided if I can stand the wait, when her bed comes in this week, we'll save it for her Easter basket on Sunday!

Yesterday, I dropped one of her pots of grass when I was watering it. Never knew mud could fly so far~across my bedroom at that.

So, we'll be needing to get a new terra cotta pot. I'm at work now, and just can hardly wait to get home to my baby girl!
