Sideways Hopping?

What does it mean? Tumbles does this when he's playing and goes near one of the other cats. He'll do the sideways hop thing with his tail in a sorta down position, and his head down. Is it an invitation to play?

Pretty much. I'm not sure what the exact translation to human is but it does mean "lets play" or "oh yeah? come and get me".

When Tumbles does this, it reminds me of a young colt frolicking.

I love it when kittens do this. Monster used to do it when he was a kitten, and now, Precious' kittens are doing it.. Some times when they are all out playing, two will kinda "face off" with the sideways hopping thing and will hop/circle each other. its so cute
