So... our little guy is just 7 months old, and I've noticed that whenever he is excited, or enjoying his food, or happy to have us come home etc. that he gets a little faux hawk along his back and neck... It is soo Cute.  I thought the raised hair was usually something that happened out of fright, but our little guy must be the goose bumpy type.  Just wondering if anyone else's furry family members do the same.

So hard to get a photo up close of him because he just wants to be in my arms whenever he can, but this is what I could pull off today:

It's a normal reaction. It just means the kitty is excited. My Panda does it when she is angry, happy, wary, curious. This is then followed by a fluffed up tail.
I also think it is cute (except when it means they are frightened).
