So my 10 years old cat had an intussuspection, prolapse and colitis back in september (culprit might have been constipation) recovered
switched their food looking for a better nutrition since i have her and both of her daughters (all spayed now)
started seeing her bum a bit irritated in december so took her to the vet, had soft stool occationally but the vet sent metronidazole and famotidine for 7 days, did it, runny poop after she ate, on the 7th day she started pooping with stripes of blood.

2 weeks of probiotics every other day, kinda got better, no more urgency to poop after eating but would poop 1-2 a day, now mixed poop, normal consistency then runny there was sometimes blood still.
i started changing their food over a week ago ( stil transitioning) and these past 2 days she has pooped normal !!! where did the diarhea go ??? my vet already sent me to a gastroenterologist bc she couldnt figure it out what was happening.
but shes pooping normal now ??
my problem now is the specialist sent me a few tests to run on her like an ultrasound
i found this one terrible vet i didnt know was gonna do the ultrasound that in the document stated theres mild sediment on her bladder, but i never went bc of urinary symptoms !! she has nothing like that! and the worse part is that this man didnt talk to me at all while doing the ultrasound, just took the pics then left ??? what if he just typed whatever he barely saw in the pictures ( no movement) and sent it to me? my cat had an ultrasound back in september too and her bladder was okay.

should i get another opinion or get another ultrasound somewhere else? also, should i still go to the specialist even tho the culprit might have been her food since shes pooping normally now?
and, might the metronidazole messed her tummy and caused the diarrhea ? okay i think thats all.
doing poop tests, blood test tomorrow too.
Idk if i should go to the specialist (50$ the consult is basically 1/4 of a minimun wage here and my father is paying for it so i feel guilty ) or should i go to the vet that saved her from the obstruction ?

its a lot to write but i might have missed details ;_; im very concerned about her bladder thingy, she has no symptoms but i worry i might not be able to afford further treatments or if she gets worse

I would get a second opinion. Bring all copies of the ultrasound and other medical records with you for the vet to review. If you can send them ahead of the appointment, that would be helpful.

Metronidazole can cause an upset tummy and diarrhea in some cats.

Definitely doing that, actually today we had blood draw and idk if it was due to the stress of the procedure she pooped herself and the doctor or tech said her bottom prolapsed a bit but went back inmediately.

My blood ran cold when she told her bc yuuki already had a colopexy for that matter, idk if the " go back in" inmediately is a good sign the surgery worked orr If i should be prepared to have the same issue as back in September

My cat had diarrhea for a month during January, which lead me to do a bunch of tests on her to see whats wrong, changed her food and 4 days into the transition she started pooping normally.

She had another issue which led the vet to prescribe lactulose, i suspended it on Tuesday so 6 days ago, she started pooping kinda runny and more times a day 4 days ago.
Do you guys think this is 100% caused by the lactulose? Since it's a common consequence of it, how much more do you think shes gonna keep pooping runny? :( Ik its uncomfortable for her.
Also her bloodwork, ultrasound came perfectly, ever since i changed her food she has wayy nore energy, the only thing that came out is that she probably has a food allergy vet told me to switch to an hypoallergenic diet as soon as i finish this bag of food ( they eat a good quality food)
I feel like today she pooped less times that yesterday and a bit less runny. Im really hoping its just the lactulose and not a reaction to the new food :(
Any experience on osmotic diarrhea due to lactulose? Cant get gastrointestinal food rn for her since i spent a good amount of $$$ making sure nothing terrible was happening

How long has it been since you changed her food? Is it dry food or canned food? It's possible the lactulose caused the diarrhea, but it could also be the food, especially if it's dry food and you didn't do a gradual transition.

Well, there goes my theory! LOL If she had normal poops on the new food, then I would lean more towards the lactulose.
