I have a couple cat scratch tree but I'm wondering if I should get new ones and replace the ones that I have although at the same time I don't think I need to. The one that I call the tower which in tall and brown is feeling very good shape after almost 3 years but the other one that is gray and has two little curved bed areas if the same age but more worn. That second one is the one that I'm wondering about but Nikita and Prince both lay on it all the time and they still scratch it all the time so I'm not sure it's necessary to replace it which makes me wonder how long have y'all had cat scratch posts in trees before replacing them

The first tall cat tree I got was getting pretty tattered, so I gave the good parts to my niece. She was able to use them to construct a smaller tree for her cats, and it's going on 10 years of use now.

My current cat tree is 7 or 8 years old. I need to replace the sisal wrap on the posts, but I'm not ready to buy a whole new cat tree.

Yeah that's a good point. Everything I have is the first tree/post I got when I first got Prince back in November of 2017. That brown tower you see there is still in fantastic shape, and that other tree is also in really good shape dispate the scratching post looking well worn. The brown post that I had which you see in my profile picture with Prince and Nikita sitting on was shaky and loose so I dismantled that and paired it with the bed of a petco tree I got that had a similar issue. That now is a combined "cat house" on top of my computer desk XD

They love that.

(A random, weird side note: an amazing idea well done. I was typing this reply on my computer but needed to switch over to my phone to take a picture of that house and this site already had my post from my computer on the post reply of this on my phone)
