Saffron and Sachi, my two 7 week old rescues have taken it upon themselves to start escaping from their room. At first it was cute. Now it is just annoying. I go into feed them and they try to escape every time. If I lived in a small apartment it would not be so annoying but in a house with stairs...with my health problems...chasing a lightening fast kitten...Ugh.
It is exasperating when you have small kittens bent on escape every time you open the door. I feel like I need a net or something. It is not as if I don't bring them out a lot. I do. But racing after two is just too much. I am not used to kittens this small. My boys were 12 weeks when they came and totally uninterested in escaping.
Anyway, Cleo and Seldon are my partners in chase. Seldon tries to body block them from getting out, Cleo chases them down so that I know where they are and Mary tackles them frequently. They seem to know that the kittens belong in their own room. Seldon will even chase them back to their door. I even saw them work as a group to keep them blocked in another room so they couldn't get out. Instead they run from furniture to furniture to hide underneath darting back and forth until I lunge and grab.
Without my little helpers I would never have been able to find them much less get back into their room.
