We recently adopted the most beautiful 5 mo. old kitten from the Humane Society. He was a second chance cat from California (we live in Oregon) that was sent to the OHS.

We're trying to figure out what breed he is.

Our best guess is bengal. He fits the personality and pattern perfectly, but we're also thinking he's a 2nd or 3rd generation of a pure breed, so he may be mixed with a tabby cat.

His history is unknown, other than he needs LOTS of love and has tons of energy. And is extremely clever, thus his name, da Vinci. :)

What do you guys think??

He looks like an elf! <3

da Vinci saying hi. :) This last one was posted for pure adorable-ness. :)

Thanks for your help, guys!

Talking about Second chance!  Both you and the intelligen young mr DaVinci got apparently as winners out here.

I wonder who was this pitiful  looser, who had the highest win in the lottery already in his hand and pocket, but threw it away...

Others had better luck, and knows how to use the luck when it comes.    :)

Bengal?  Nay.  If there IS any bengal, it will be as you say, in third generation.   Nothing peculiar with this, there are a helluva lot of beatiful moggies out there.

Whom do you think they use as source for building up them purebreeds when starting a pure bred programme, bengals among them?  They do pick up nice, beautiful moggies like yours.

So he is not a descendant, he is a  cousin of sorts.

His spots on the tummy arent unusual with tabbies, especielly mackerel tabbies, like he is.

Good luck!
