Our 2 year old Scottish Straight Belle is shedding quite a lot despite the fact that it has just snowed here in Kiev. I have heard that it is normal for cats to shed all year round especially with central heating and she does rough house with our year old rescue Aza. Should I be worried about shedding - or to ask a different way When should I worry about shedding?

Thanks

When the cat starts to go bald.

It's perfectly normal for cats to shed year-round. With Jasmine (a medium hair moggy) I see an upsurge in the spring and autumn, but it's always there. Ditto with every cat I've ever owned. My Floppy :rbheart: (another medium hair) once threw up a huge hairball which she carefully hid under the couch until it was completely dry, after which she treated it as a toy mouse. She was quite incensed when some ignoramus swept it up and put it in the trash, after all the effort she'd put into it.
