So having felt that things were on track with my two youngest cats, no squinty eyes, no sneezing, adjusted fantastic to new diet now my older guy has yucky eyes! Yoshi was a stray I took in about 4 years ago. Clearly he had been someone's pet, sooo affectionate. He was in hard shape when he appeared in my driveway on a snowy November night. Fleas, worms, missing part of his tail and a tooth, thin coat, skinny with a swollen belly, poor guy! Some meds and a neuter and some house training helped him become a fantastic house cat. He has been amazingly healthy up to this. He has always been a bit of a loud breather, but it was no concern. Today I noticed both his eyes had goop, yellow goop in both eyes and although I cleaned it, it came back quickly. His third eyelid looked white and fantastic today but now looks a bit pink and angry. I'm a little concerned bc I have noticed he has lost a little weight recently. I had attributed it to a healthier diet. He was way over weight at 17 lbs anyways, and I'm sure he probably still is. I've also noticed he doesn't jump up to one of his fav spots as often anymore. But maybe I'm just being paranoid he is thought to be somewhere between 7-10 years old. I called the vet and we decided to get him checked out tomorrow. His appointment is at 4 pm, but I won't be able to pick him up until about 7. My clinic has a drop off service which is great since I won't be able to stay since my oldest son has an occupational therapy appointment at 5 quite a distance away! Please send healthy vibes to my big boy, I call him my jungle cat..lol..he is a very loved guy.
