Hi,

We have 3 cats and we are vegetarians (well, eggetarians). So far we've been feeding our cats (7, 7, and 3 years old) a balanced diet of packaged wet food and dry kibbles. However, we are hoping to gradually shift to home-cooked food. Chicken and fish are ok but pork and beef are a no no. Can anyone recommend a few simple recipes using these? Hopefully ones that do no require any specialized equipment. Being vegetarians we've never cooked meat before so please do mention any specific care instructions while handling, cooking and storing meat.

Thank you and your inputs are very much appreciated! :)

Hi, others here might have the details you need!

My opinion though, I think best results are if you can consult with a board-certified veterinary nutritionist for feline home-cooked meals...so many factors to consider such as supplements to add to avoid nutritional deficiencies, and even the way meat is cooked affects the nutrient content. Also to figure out what’s best for your individual cats based on their lab work. Many random recipes for felines online have incomplete nutrients. These are some resources (there are more out there) I’d recommend checking out if you decide to go the nutritionist route! I’ve been researching to try this for my cat as well.

Best of luck, I think it's great you want to cook for your cats : )
