Hello cat lovers, I'm about to buy a Scottish fold kitten but I need some help on identitying the colour and the coat pattern. These are some pictures of him
What a lucky duck you are. Scottish folds are adorable!
I struggle seeing the difference between spotted and mackerel tabbies in longer-haired breeds, but I will try my best!
I believe your Scottie is a lilac-based caramel (or taupe) mackerel tabby with a white underbelly (and possibly white hind feet). But due to his medium - longhaired fur length, I'm having trouble in telling if he could also be a broken mackerel tabby.
If he has spots and stripes together (on his sides, not just around his neck and legs), he's most likely a broken mackerel tabby.
Thanks for your answer, but this is a shorthair cat.
I have 2 Scottish Straight and 1 Highland Straight. All are solid colour. I felt in love with this guy, but was not sure about the pattern
Just wanted to add that he not just a mackerel tabby, but what is called a "broken" mackerel tabby. That's why his stripes are broken up in some places
