So mY girl cat , Darla has recently started scooting. It started up about two weeks ago. She is strictly an indoor cat.
About a week ago I started changing her food from science diet to nature's choice dry food. I also started giving her more wet food, from one can a day to two cans a day.
She was eating Paws Premium then I switched her over to Iams. She Ate the iams for about three days and then she wouldn't touch it. On Monday, I came home from work to see throw up on the carpet. I immediately switched her back to paws but last night, she threw up four times in the span of 30 minutes. She has also been scooting since around the time I started giving her two cans a day.
I do not believe she has worms. She is not allowed outside.
I did not bring a sample in for the doctor to check out, the vet did not say anything about bringing one in...
I went to the vet on Wednesday, and got her checked out. The vet looked at her and saw no signs of irritation and he expressed her anal glands. He told me that she could be scooting because of the diarrhea and if she doesn't stop scooting by Monday to call back and get another appointment.
What I am concerned about is that she is vomiting. She still has diarrhea. I am going to drop the wet food from two cans to one a day. I don't understand why she is vomiting. Any insight would be good.....
