Science Diet Feline Growth

The vet recommended that we transition Starlight from her A/D canned food to Science Diet Feline Growth. We went out today and couldn't find it at Petco or Pet Smart. Both had SD foods, but not that specific type. Any other ideas of where to look? Any other food that would be comprable?

I would recommend a different food, Science Diet has very poor ingredients. At Petsmart I would recommend Eukanuba, Royal Canin or Spa Select....from Petco I would recommend Natural Balance, Royal Canin, or Eukanuba.

What ingredients in SD are poor? What should I be looking for? Is it ever possible to get quality food at Target or the grocery store? The pet stores are quite far. But if I know for sure what to get, I can stock up.

They need kitten food for the full first year, right?

High look for no byproducts... no grd corn( some corn gluten passes me ) ... no soy ... no chemical preservatives ... then look at protein I like at least 35% for kittens and fat in the 20-25% ... omega 6 or linoleic acid of at least 3% .. no more than 2 grains to one meat ... example chn rice brown rice fish flax bqarley would be okay not great but it works...

I suggest Blue Buffalo SPA SELECT from Petsmart and Natural Balance from Petco. I agree, Science Diet is a very poor quality food.

I agree with everyone else. My reccommendation would be either IAMS or Royal Canin, both of which I feed to my persians and their kittens. Science Diet is just not the best choice.
