I really have just this one question for right now,but it's a start....

Has anyone ever heard of a case where a bobcat hybrid has actually been proven by genetic testing?

I'm very interested to get your thoughts on this. People say it has happened, but I can't find a bit of DNA proof anywhere...

so is it real?

I have no idea, but you may get some answers on the breeders board, if you want to post there.

....And welcome to TCS!   Do you have a savanha or a Bangel?

Thanks for the welcome

I have 2 cats(siblings) who are most likely bobcat hybrids.

We are having genetic testing performed next week by a nearby university.

Hopefully we will know once and for all.
They will be DNA confirmed(or ruled out, though I doubt that).

I can't find other such cases that were actually genetically proven.

I'm starting to wonder if we will be the first

What are the local laws on owning a wildcat mix, if the DNA comes back positive for bobcat?

In my state, you need only a $25 permit, and renewal every 2 years.

That's a big relief.
