And the girls seem happy! (The older cats don't give one iota....and I'm a little surprised. I thought they'd at least want to check it out, but nope, they really don't care.)
We had been talking about getting the girls a cat tree for quite a while now. And we finally bought one for them. I think they like it. We didn't know where to put it for now, so it's in the kitchen. After Christmas, we may put it in the living room, either right in front of the bay window or perhaps right between the living room and kitchen.
While Mollipop seems to like to clean her claws out on a more horizontal level, Tabby really likes to reach up and scratch things. When I realized that, we bought a small scratching post for her. And she does use it, but the post doesn't seem to be sturdy enough. It has sisal rope and she seems to really like it. So we chose this particular tree because of all the scratching areas for Tabby. It's working, too! Tabby really scritches at the posts and we haven't seen her around the furniture now at all!
We're hoping that (maybe!) we can start removing all the double-sided sticky tape around the upholstered furniture in the living room. (But we're not holding our breath.)
Rick put it together and they immediately started to investigate.
Tabby wants the top!
Mollipop will take the second level, but she really, really likes the little hide-a-way bed....she jumped inside later on and that was all we saw of her for the rest of the evening. I looked inside and she was all curled up and sacked out.
Tabby seems very content, doesn't she? She took quite a long nap there last night. And after breakfast this morning, she climbed right up and gave herself a bath before settling in for a nap. Thanks for looking!
