We have a fairly small yard with a 6ft fence all the way around. We’re thinking about constructing a top around the top that is commonly seen online. It basically has the same design in various fashions from somewhat heavy gage plastic to bent wire types. Some are even commercially sold. Has anyone tried this? I’m thinking it’s a great idea for them to enjoy the outdoors with safety. Comments on your experience? Can’t really afford a catio due to my husband having cancer and all.

Wow 😮 that’s awesome! And it probably keeps other cats out 😉

It you already have a wooden fence the cats can't get through you could try nailing some plastic gardening sheets around the top of the fence.

I use them to stop our cats climbing trees and getting out of their enclosure that way.
