I haven't been with my x partner for about a year now but a few months back I was working away and putting penny /my cat into a pet resort , to try and save a little more cash my x asked if I wanted her to look after her for a few weeks because I was working down around Newcastle near her! Everything was fine but after 3 weeks when I went to pick her back up she had moved and now refuses to give her back its now been a month and a half trying to get her back .... And im starting to really get upset and frustrated I dont want to.Call the police on her but I think I may have no other choice .... Just looking for input from other cat lovers on what to do

The longer you wait the easier it's gong to be for your ex to claim you abandoned or gave them the cat.  And the harder it's going to be on the pet itself.

Good luck. I really hope you get your kitty back soon. Taking someone's beloved pet is very low.

I hope you get some help. I don't know how the police handle this kind of situation. You might ask for an escort to retrieve your property. You may have to call AC. Hopefully your ex will simply surrender the pet.

Friend of mine's X  had her dog put to sleep. and he was the one who left the home was having an affair, took an apartment, etc. She did get another one later, makes sure she never has it where he  knows anything about it. They are finally divorced now, he has to pay alimony for 9 years(good). She sold the huge house , got her a nice condo-and finally is happy again. we all work at the same place. He , girlfriend, and wife all work at the same place, differing shifts thankfully. After 25 years of marriage and very happy together he falls for this homewrecker when he has to change shifts to supervise.  O well good luck getting your animal back, hope they charge him with theft...

I would think that with the paperwork to back you up it should be no problem.  Good Luck
