My cat who is 17 years old has had a small bump on the back of his neck that has slowly grown over the past 2 years.
The vet examined it last checkup and said it appeared to be lipoma though no actual biopsy was done.
It has never bothered him nor given any other signs of concern. It has reached the size of a dime.
Tonight I realized it had ruptured, whatever came out has dried up and I don't know what to clean it with.
I will have to call for an appointment tomorrow and probably take him the following day, but not sure what to use to keep it clean in the meantime.
I don't believe this is life threatening nor does it seem to concern him but I am worried since it has opened it can get infection.
Any suggestions on a topical cleanser I might have on hand or can buy at a pharmacy that will be effective but not painful (no burning)??
The only thing I have that is for pets and might work is ear wash fluid and I have some antibiotic drops and ointments that were for other pets either eyes or ears and I was thinking maybe to apply in the meantime.
I mean I do have triple antibiotic ointment and other people-stuff but afraid to use peroxide cause I know that will sting.
All ideas welcome!
Thanks, Kiwi
