Has anyone dealt with ringworm? All but 2 of my foster kittens have ringworm. I have never dealt with ringworm before and am now just learning about it. I have been dipping them in lime sulfur dip once a week and spot treating with apple cider vinegar but these efforts do not seem to be working. I am fighting a never ending battle. I just bought Accel to disinfect cages and etc. I have been bleaching bedding, floors and etc but again these efforts don't seem to be helping. How the heck do I get rid of ringworm spores in my home? I am however thankful my dogs, adult cats and family have no yet gotten ringworm. (knock on wood) Desperate need of suggestions! Please.

P.s. I'm not taking in anymore kittens till I feel I have gotten rid of the spores.

Oh yes, we have a wonderful long thread on here dedicated to ringworm thanks to @Bunnelina and shewill give you details about the cleaning process.

Here in Georgia we have had an outbreak of particularly stubborn ringworm in some foster homes, and have discarded the stinky and formerly effective lyme sulfur dip in favor of a shampoo which combines chlorhexadine with ketoconazole.  (KetoChlor by Virbac is the one we used.) It doesn't smell bad and it stops the stuff almost immediately.

@Red Top Rescue  did you mean Virbac Keratolux Shampoo? I googled KetoChlor by Virbac but didn't find that.

Go the the bottom.  I finally found another brand of it, made in Florida, and only $9.99.  It seems Virbac is out of stock right now.

KetoChlor is a medicated shampoo used to treat fungal and bacterial diseases of the skin. ... KetoChlor Shampoo is a combination of Chlorhexidine Gluconate (2%), an antibacterial, and ketoconazole (1%), an antifungal and is used for bacterial and fungal infections of the skin.

I'm striking out here.  Drs. Foster & Smith are also out of it although they carry it.  Item above is unavailable for order at this time. Expected in on 10/07/2016.

Virbac's ;age still shows it, and also another related product that leaves some residue on the skin.  It's called Resi-KetoChlor

It looks like they have it but it is only available by prescription.  I think this is where we got ours (prescriptions easy to get from shelter vet)

These guys are also out of stock

These people also say it is KetoChlor medicated shampoo is back ordered from the manufacturer. We recommend the alternative Phytovet CK.

So here is Phytovet

AND FINALLY ANOTHER BRAND of the same thing, CHEAPER too since it's not Big Pharm:

Good luck.  Add your success stories to the long Ringworm link and keep it going.  That way, new things that do better keep being added.  I remember doing the lyme sulfur dips too, worked well on kitens but harder on big cats.  Then after awhile it wasn't getting it all, so that's when we tried new things and the ketochlor filled the bill, at least for now.
