Hi guys, meet Fluffy, my 1 year and 2 months mixed breed of ragdoll and ragamuffin.
Sadly, he just passed away yesterday night, 16th October. Even though he is now gone, I'd like to share with the world how adorable and lovely Fluffy is and even though his life was short, it was a good 1 year. He never failed to bring us joy with her weird way of sleeping and he never failed to scare the daylights out of us when he tried to jump up to the window ledge.
Just a little bit on how Fluffy died..
Fluffy was found lying motionless by our brother outside my bathroom. He was a healthy cat. He was well fed, active and showed no signs and symptoms of being ill. (Or maybe he was ill because I read that cats are really good at hiding) but I really doubt so because his pee and poo was normal. He didn't lose weight in fact he gained, he grew bigger. (I am from Singapore and currently in Australia pursuing my degree and my brothers sent me pictures of Fluffy and within a span of 3 months, he grew so big, maybe that's because of his breed) he was just one ball of fur. And just that unfortunate night, he was found dead..
Possible causes of sudden death started to come up to my mind.. my main and biggest suspicion was he had cardiomyopathy. I know it's a very general muscle disease but I really couldn't think of any possible cause. He wasn't poisoned because if so, he would be foaming. Or if he choked, he would be foaming too but no, nothing. He was calm and peaceful when he left.
If anyone, knows what could be the cause, kindly let me know or if the same thing happened to your cat, kindly discuss here. I just want to know the cause of his death for some consolation. We could have done an autopsy on Fluffy but that would mean cutting him up and we couldn't bear to do that.
I'd like to share this tribute video my brother made. I couldn't stop crying and feel sad that I wasn't there with him during his last moments. I cannot imagine how he felt. Must have been very lonely..
Please meet Fluffy <3
