I've just made an appointment for my cat to go to the vet this evening after work, whic is less than twelve hours away! But I'm going to be thinking about her the whole day at work.
We went on holiday last week and my cat stayed in a cattery. She's stayed in catteries before and been fine, but not this one and not for this long. Our older cats had stayed in it when they were younger though and been fine.
We picked her up on Sunday and noticed she had lost weight. She hasn't really eaten much since. She's eaten some treats and been okay and a little bit of her meals but not much. Last night she got up in the night to eat and was almost immediately sick. This morning she ate a couple of treats and was sick again. My mum thinks she threw up yesterday afternoon too, although she initially thought it was one of the other cats (overstuffed after eating Lucia's uneaten dinner!).
She is the kind of cat that eats crap she shouldn't, although as she's been at the cattery all week this isn't my main concern right now. She's been drinking water, possibly a little more than normal but it's hard to tell. I have seen her pee in her litter box but not poop...although if she hasn't been eating there's probably nothing in there.
She is her normal mad, playful, naughty self.
I spoke to the vet nurse who advised me to come in because although it could be stress, vomiting in cats isn't normal and it could be something more serious, but that waiting until this evening was probably fine as she is acting normal.
She is an anxious cat, especially since I had to move back in with my parents and their cats, but it makes me sad to see her skinny and mostly uninterested in food. I've already got the appointment to see the vet so there's not really anything else I can do now, but I was hoping someone here could give me some reassurance that it's probably stress or something very treatable!
