My cat has episodes of colitis...I am feeding him raw becuase he does better with raw rather then cooked
My cat can eat raw beef,,lamb,or pork but when I feed him raw rabbit he vomits up undigested food about 2 hours later..this does not happen with other protein sources
I dont understand why he has such a problem with raw rabbit since it is lower in fat and theoretically should be easier to digest.I tried different sources(different market) for the rabbit and the same thing occurs so I know its not a quality issue. I know its not the bone becuase i tested him out just giving her the meat without any bone and the same thing happens.
Is it because she lacks digestive enzymes and I need to add some?
Or is this an allergic reaction ?
is there any way to overcome this ??

It may just be an intolerance to rabbit. Who knows why? :dunno: Probably easiest to just avoid feeding it. I don't know of any way to really overcome an intolerance.

If the rabbit is causing vomiting, then don't feed it. Rabbit is considered a novel protein but some cats may have an intolerance to it. Adding digestive enzymes and such won't help.
