My cat threw-up on our carpet and I have cleaned it with a portable rug cleaner and carpet cleaner. I have also let baking soda sit on it for 2 days. OMG I take a sniff of the rug and I just want to keel over. The smell is awful. I have looked up natural removers like vinegar, baking soda, and rubbing alcohol. Amazon has some enzymatic cleaners one is from Natures Miracle another is Sunny and Honey or Rocco and Roxie stain and odor eliminator. I called a professional cleaner and he said to get a enzymatic cleaner. Has anyone had any luck? I do not like perfume smells and I don’t want to just cover it up or damage my rug. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Anti-Icky Poo an enzymatic cleaner to remove pet smells.
Nature’s Miracle is a great enzyme based cleaner.
It's not advertised as a pet odor remover, but the best product I've found for the purpose is Advanage cleaner
