Hi, is it ok to give a FIV+ cat raw eggs? I don't feed him with anything raw because of the contamination risk but I figured since an egg is closed entirely up until one cracks it there must not be a risk of contamination. And also they are from my friends' chickens, she has only a dozen chicken  so lower risk of disease right? I gave him one today and he absolutely loved it, I want to give him as a treat from time to time.

What part of the egg did you give him. If it's cooked both the yolk and egg are fine. If it's raw only give the yolk since eating too much raw whites isn't good for them.

I gave him both the white and the yolk. But of course I won't give him raw eggs regularly, so I don't think it'll be a problem if he also eat the white raw. I'm wondering what's the contamination risk if there is any.
