Hi every one!
About a week ago, I was petting my cat (who LOVES to have her chin and throat scratched), and noticed these bumps on her. They were under her chin, on her throat. It felt like three. They were small, and I had trouble seeing them, but they looked like on the top of them they were slightly red. I hadn't clipped my kitties (I have two) claws in a while, and they fight quite a bit, so I assumed it was scratches. I do find scabs on them after they've fought once in a while.
Then I felt a larger bump over her right shoulder blade, and another on her head below her right ear. She's a tortishell, and so in her black fur with spots it is really hard for me to get a good look at them. She never acted like they hurt or itched. If I hadn't felt them I would have never thought anything was different. When I try parting her fur so I can see it better, she purrs and purrs like she thinks I'm petting her, but if I work at it too long she becomes curious, knows I'm up to something, and then won't hold still, making it harder for me to see it.
She is always getting into things, and though we try to stop her, sometimes she gets outside and also in our crawlspace, though I really can't remember her doing either of those recently.
I decided to wait and see what happened. In a couple days, the spots would seem to get smaller and go away, and then I would find new ones, which seemed to get smaller. Then there would be new ones.
Now, the only ones I feel (as far as she will let me!) are a couple on once side of her neck and one on the other. I'm rather concerned though, because these ones seem bigger than they were before, the biggest yet, and every time I've thought "well, they're going away now" they come back, bigger than the first ones.
She was sleeping on my lap yesterday, and as far as I can tell it's a small bump, smaller than a pea, the sides of the bump going up is regular skin color with no hair on it, and then the top looks red? or brown? it's hard to tell what color the top is, because it is covered with a tuft of fur. As I was trying to part her fur and see better, a few hairs came out and they had a piece of dry skin stuck to the end.
She still doesn't act like it bothers her.
I've been trying to get a picture, but she hears my camera, goes "What are you trying to do to me!" and takes off.
Any of you seen anything like this before?
Thanks!
