Radagast Pet Food, Inc. is recalling one lot of Free-Range Chicken and one lot of Free-Range Turkey Recipe

Radagast Pet Food, Inc. of Portland, OR is recalling one lot of Free-Range Chicken and one lot of Free-Range Turkey Recipe because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Listeria monocytogenes can affect animals eating the products and there is risk to humans from handling contaminated pet products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any surfaces exposed to these products.

Thanks for the post.
FDA is really cracking down on raw food. I wonder how this could have been found when Radcat says they test all their batches for Listeria before they are released?

Number of CFUs during testing may have been too low to be detected, but later multiplied during transit/storage. The batches tested were a bit old, so had plenty of opportunity to be poorly handled. Or the random samples tested by Rad Cat happened to all be clean samples, while the FDA happened to randomly get contaminated samples. They can't test every square inch of meat; they can only take enough random samples to make statistically valid assumptions about the entire batch.
