Greetings! Happy first Tuesday of January and the first Tuesday of 2024!

What are some common foods that make you wonder "Who was the first brave person to try to eat that?"

- Bread. I guess just the neat idea that someone looked at a bunch of random wheat in a field and figured out to crush it, mix it and bake it lol
- Crabs
- Sea Urchins
- Anything that could be poisonous, if not cooked or prepared properly, like Fugu, red kidney beans, bitter almonds, mushrooms, cherry pits, cashews or elderberries.
- Milk alone I get, but the adventures of milk related products like butter, cheese and yoghurt must have been interesting.
- Oysters
- Alcohol

Of course there are a lot of anthropological and social factors that encourage people to try things, like starvation or observing animals, but nevertheless! Some things are curious

ANYTHING cooked. Consider this, back when man first began to cook foods, fire was mysterious, terrifiying, and destructive. I mean, who thought, 'Let's throw this in there, and see what happens!"
