Shelf stable pickles are never (to me at least) crunchy. That's why I like the ones that you get in the refrigerated section of the grocery store. I like the Ba-Tampte kosher half sours. Their garlic dills are good too. http://www.batamptepickle.com/
pretzels!!!yummmm......soft pretzels! i think i vaguely remember the Hickory Farms sweet-hot mustard. it's been many years since i've had anything from Hickory Farms. i also really like their summer sausage.
speaking of which, i have a jar of sweet bread & butter pickles open in the fridge right now! i used about half the jar in a big batch of macaroni salad the other day, diced up. i was just thinking earlier today that it's been too long since i've made a pb and sweet bread & butter pickles sandwich.
i've never had any high quality pickles......
Boar's Head makes good ones too if your local store sells their products. They just make good stuff all around though.
