Good morning. :wave3:

It's almost pay day. :hyper: What little indulgences do you treat yourself to when you have a bit of extra cash?

I really like nice teas and coffees, so I usually get some Indian Chai, some fruit and herbal tea mixes and a few hundred grams of the good imported coffee. I tried a Colombian one last month that was really good.

Lately I've had a craving for peanut butter. Weird, because I don't usually like the stuff, but for some reason I really want some right now. Japanese peanut butter isn't that good, so I'll have to splash out around $9 for a jar of imported Skippy.

If I have to pay that much for it I'm counting it as an indulgence.

How about you, what do you like to treat yourself to?

I don't even have to think about an answer for this question because I've done this so many times before. When I have had a particularly stressful week at work and it was pay day I would treat myself to the largest almond milk latte. I would sit there and savor the aroma until the week's worries disappeared. ;)

Wow that is a crazy price for Skippy! I buy Teddy all natural. Once opened, you do have to store it in the fridge. Even that is just $4.99 a jar.

As for coffee, have you ever tried Kona? No idea if it is imported where you are; it is from Hawaii. The volcanic ash in the soil gives a very different flavor to the coffee. It is one of my treats, as it is pricey. Oh, btw, it is a very STRONG coffee.

Good coffee for me also! And good hummus. Normally I buy the cheaper store brands of both, which do fine - but when I've a bit of money to spare I buy a nice bag of some specialist coffee and "proper" hummus. My favourite being this amazingly delicious homemade hummus from a small Lebanese shop in town that I don't get to that often anymore.

Also dried mango. There's only one brand of dried mango that I like, and unfortunately it's the more expensive brand - you can taste the the preservatives in any other brand I've tried. A big bag of dried mango is a real treat. :yummy:

Coffee is a big one for me also. I also will often make a trip to Bath and Body Works. I know it costs more but that is what an indulgence is all about. They are also headquartered here in Columbus OH so I can legitimately say I am helping a hometown business.

I will splurge on ACEOs (art cards originals and editions) on ebay. The category I collect is cat art. If you are not familiar with the ACEOs, they are miniature artworks that must be exactly 2.5 x 3.5 inches. They are listed as originals or prints, usually. I always try to get the originals. There are so many talented artists selling and because they are small, the price is more affordable to me. I often give the cards to co-workers as friendship cards or birthday gifts, especially since I work with many cat lovers. I have purchased matting and small frames for them on-line and they make wonderful little gifts when they are framed. Although it is a splurge, I have to use some restraint because it can be addictive for me.

It's books and CDs for my music collection for me. I'm a hopeless junkie for both. Right now I'm looking for Jed Marum and also sea chanties. And kitchen gadgets if I can find something I really can use.

My husband and I allow a fixed amount of "mad money" for each of us every month. We can spend it or let it accumulate for something big we want. He bought his BabyLock serger; I opted for an ice cream machine with a compressor so I don't have to freeze a container. We sometimes help each other to buy something special.

i'm far too practical and frugal-minded to indulge myself much or often.

two things come to mind though.

i save up my credit card rewards points, which when i reach a certain dollar amount or higher i'll apply to my next amazon purchase, and then i use the same amount (as the rewards points dollar amount deducted from my amazon purchase) to buy e-books -- it's an indirect way of using my rewards points (which can not be used for digital purchases at amazon) to buy digital content/e-books. it's an indulgence for me because i could just save the money that my rewards points deduct from my purchase.

since i cooked and baked ahead for the hot summer months this year (so have effectively reduced my grocery bill for the summer months), i indulged by buying a couple containers of wegman's pre-packaged cold cuts. it's been quite a long time since i last bought any of these.

Nail polish. I love playing around with nail polish. (Have been known to do an Amazon order of just nail polish :paperbag: ) Right now, I'm really into the dry marbling. It's interesting, but would be better if I really knew how to do it; I keep telling myself that practice makes perfect.)

There is a Hawaiian coffee in the store I buy my coffee from. It's about twice the price of the others. I wonder if that's it? Maybe next month, if we don't have any trips to the ER vet to pay for....

Dried mango! I'd forgotten about that. I used to buy bags of it and then open it on the bus thinking I'd have just one piece on the way home. I have no self control though. I'd always get home with an empty bag.

I've heard good things about B&BW. Do you know if their products are cruelty free?

They sound really nice. I've got a huge collection of postcards from all the art exhibitions I've been to. The art books are usually too expensive, so I like to get a few postcards to remind me of what I've seen

I have a list of books I want to get, but I need to buy a new bookcase too.

That's a good idea. I buy all my cat food online, so we get quite a lot of points from that. It's like getting a little Thank You gift from the kitties.

Do you watch nail tutorials on You Tube? Some of those manicures are amazing works of art. They make it look so easy too.

If I'm really splurging, a purse.

Little splurges are some that others have mentioned - a good cup of coffee, nail polish (even though I have no nails right now!), a bouquet of flowers...we won't even discuss my wine splurges.
