Question of the Day - Monday, November 13, 2023

I put in my grocery order last night including non-perishable Thanksgiving food and man it just hit me that Thanksgiving is next week so it's basically Christmas and I officially have an unofficial second job of putting on the holidays for the next +6 weeks. I love it yet I am simultaneously overwhelmed. My kids are starting to get older so it's making me want to savor it more too. I need to figure out when to get to the orchard for apples now.



What is your favorite Thanksgiving/Fall dessert?




I love apple pie. This is the only time of year that I make pies; so I enjoy them. My grandma made the best apple pies ever. I don't like them store-bought but man a homemade apple pie; made with a variety of apples, is just SO good. DS can't eat apples so he really loves pumpkin pie. I've been having him make those with me for the last several years.

I love pumpkin pie and pumpkin bread, but I don't eat them all year. I also like mincemeat pies, but they have too much sugar for a diabetic.

I don't have one. If I were going to eat dessert on thanksgiving it wouldn't be anything special. Nothing I wouldn't have at any other time of year. Some ice cream or key lime pie.

Neither my Mom or I are huge eaters, so we just have a "normal" type meal, with enough for a meal or two of leftovers
