Good morning! And Happy Friday!

This question is about your cats: How old are your cats? Do you know when their birthdays are? Or do you know when their Gotcha Days are?

Our clan:

Ms. Pepe is 22 years old. She was born in a laundry basket in our bedroom on February 13, 1996. Our house is all she's ever known. She was a member of the original RugCat clan.

Amber Louise is 15 years old (Or 16, Rick and I never agree on that). She came to live with us on November 1, 2002 (or 2003) when she was about 4 weeks old. She became a RugCat at that time.

Mollipop was born on February 8, 2010 at the animal hospital; she came to me on March 25, 2010. Originally, we considered her part of the RugCat Clan (as a RugKitten). Eventually she became the beginning Meowsketeer and is eight years old.

We're not sure about Tabby's birthday; she found us around the end of June, 2011. We celebrate her Gotcha Day on July 3, which was when WW III erupted in our car; we had been visiting my sister that night and on the way home, Rick asked me if I was going to find a home for Tabby. I told him I already did find a good home for her. When that sunk in, the yelling started. "You promised you'd find a home for her!" And yes, I did make that promise. I also broke that promise. She's the second of the Three Meowsketeers. And now? There's no way in the world that Dear Richard would ever think of giving that little girl to anybody. We belong to her.

We're not sure about Muffin's birthday either; I know she's around 8 years old. Muffin was Mom's cat and when Mom went into a nursing home, I brought Muffin home to become the last of the Three Meowsketeers; I think that was in 2012. We celebrate Muffin's Gotcha Day on September 23.

I've had to guess for both-

Charlie was born in the spring of 2016, and the vet assigned April 13th as his birthday.

Selene was probably born in August 2017, because the shelter said she was roughly four weeks old when she arrived there in September.

Rico and Zoe are siblings and were born sometime in September, 2009, so they'll be 9 in a couple of months. We adopted them from the SPCA on December 31, 2009.

Ozzy is 8. He was born sometime in February, 2010, and we adopted him in August of that year.

Hannah turned 15 in June, according to the records we have. We got her at the age of 10 in February of 2013.

Jasmine and Rocky were adult ferals when we took them in so our best guess is around 14 years.
Keith was a young adult stray so he's around 10.
Spike, Sunshine, and Zuzu were born on September 15th 9 years ago.
Sam was adopted on June 9th 2016 at around 8 weeks.
Buddy was adopted May 29th 2018 at approximately 8 weeks.

I first got introduced to Shadow and company on August 11th 2016. They were about 4-5 weeks old at the time. I put her birthday around the first week of July. She is two years old this year. I think the vet assigned late June for her birthday.

Artemis' birthday is Aug 22. He will be 2. Luna's birthday is probably sometime in June or July and she is now 2. I got her in either October or November when she was a kitten.

Mowgli was probably born in June 2012. We arbitrarily chose June 1 as his birthday. His Gotcha Day was March 9 of the following year (he was adopted from and returned to the shelter by his previous owner).

Lelia is one. She was born feral so I'm sure her exact birthday is unknown, but her spay paperwork said April 6, so I'm going with it. Her Gotcha Day is August 26th. I've had her less than a year, but it seems longer sometimes.

Onsa and Samai are littermates (we think). They are 16 months old. I got them on 3/30/17 and they were roughly 10 days old, so I'm going with birthday of March 20 2017.
Although the shelter claims they were 14 days when I got them, the ears were still pinned. So I'm sticking with the 20th.

Bodhi is 10 years old. He was born on April 13th 2008. His gotcha day was July 7th 2008. He was adopted from the local humane society. His papers say he and his litter mates were 5 and a half weeks old when brought in with the mother cat who was semi feral. I never saw her but the people at the humane society said she was an orange DSH.

Mooch and Noodles are 13. We counted back 11 weeks from when we got them and made that their birthday; so February 25th, 2005.

I don't know Casper's Gotcha day, for the life of me I don't remember the exact date he came to live with us. My friend that we adopted him from took 6 months to decide if it was a good idea to let him come to us or not. That began July of 2011. First photo I have of him living with us is 12/18/11.

I do know his birthday though as his old dad gave us his vet records. May 3rd 2001. He's now 17 plus.

Cocoabean I know the exact Gotcha Day - 12/23/12. We have no idea how old she might really be. Somewhere between 8-10 years old now.

It's Toffee and Fudge's birthday today! They're one years old.
Their adoption day is on December 16th.

~ Sadly my older cats are gone . My "new" cat family are all 5 years or younger . There are a few stray yard cats that are probably older .

Aslan's 1st birthday is on October 23rd.

Lux's birthday would have been September 3rd. I miss seeing the cat he would have been, my sweet little love.

Ashton is 1.5 years old. She was born on May 11, 2017. Her gotcha day was Oct. 29, 2017, when I went from fostering her to adopting her. I still remember the jitters I felt while waiting for the paperwork to be processed!

 

[Tobermory]

Litter mates Iris and Lily celebrated their 14th birthday on May 15. Mocha’s Gotcha Day is Oct. 13 of last year, and she’s probably about four. She was found on the street with a litter and lived in two different shelters so her age is a guess.

Daisy is 2 years old. I adopted her on January 12, 2017. Her designated birthday, which I made up, is July 3.

I don't know for sure how old Maisie is, but I was told she's between 3 and 5. Remy is a little over a year. I ended up giving them birthdates that have significance to me. For Remy I did February 20, 2017, which was the day I had weight loss surgery. For Maisie, I did October 1, 2014, which was the day I ended up in the ER for suicidal ideation. I wanted to make that day a happier one, plus that day was the first step toward me getting better, so it wasn't all bad. Their gotcha day is February 25, 2018 though.

Exact birth dates of my two are unknown

Monet is 9, adopted on 5.25.09 (Memorial Day)- approx birth date is March of 2009

Cassie is 7, adopted on 7.9.2011 - approx birth date is March of 2011
