I would work behind the scenes, helping where it's needed.

seeing as i get bored easily at those types of events i would just buy cases of food to donate

When I was working,we were always having bakes sales to raise money to help an associate or the humane society,and I'd always be baking up a storm of goodies to sell.Now I think I'd probably prefer to be in the background doing something useful.
