This might be a weird question, but my little kitty (9weeks I think) purrs but he doesn't make any noise at all. Is this just a kitten thing and he'll make more noise when he gets older? Or is it just how he is?

I really don't know if he will start purring louder as he grows up or not.

But my male cat (who is altered) purrs but doesn't make hardly any noise at all, though you can feel him purr.

Cats have all kinds of different purrs!

From what I've seen, anyway. There's the silent, contented purr you're talking about... my cats do that, if you put your hand on their neck or tummies, you can feel the rumbling purr but they aren't audible.

Then there's the purr that is so LOUD, it keeps me awake! Snickers is my snuggler, when I reach out & pet him at night he'll go from the silent purr to the really loud purr.

Then there's a really happy, trilling purr, which I've heard several of my cats do. When they are about to be fed or if I get out the catnip.

thanks all, I was just wondering as he is very verbal about everything else!

Just try to keep him away from "our" food and listen!
