Purina Food Price Increases

What is going on with Purina? Their prices have gone through the roof recently. I order cases of Fancy Feast pate and they've gone up 25% in just a few months. Purina Beyond grain free dry food went up over 60% since I ordered it less than a year ago.

They are raising the prices because they can. They can because they continue to buy other companies and become their own competition. Purina was bought by Nestle way back. Nestle bought Merrick in 2015. Merrick ran higher prices than Purina. Purina adds 'top of the line' products and edges prices up. Without much in the way of competition they can do as they like. Purina/Nestle's competition is pretty much Mars Corporation and Smuckers.

Also, trucking prices have gone up. Nobody wants to be a trucker when unemployment is low; they can find something better. So the truckers that stick around get paid more. It's a good time to be a trucker but not a good time to be someone who has to pay truckers :/.
