Prozac Alternatives For Anxious Kidney Compromised Cat

Does anyone here have a cat with anxiety AND compromised kidneys? My boy has hyperesthesia. He is very high strung and it makes him aggressive. He currently takes Prozac but I just read it is not good for the kidneys. Looking for safe alternatives.

This would be a question your vet could answer best. I've heard that some other anti-anxiety meds for cats are xanex and Valium, but I'm not familiar with all the side effects.

I give my dog Valium, never gave it to a cat but my vet said the Valium is really safe, but consult with your vet.
