Wondering about your "cat titles"? These titles are given to our members based on the number of posts they make and how long they've been registered. The longer you stay and post, the higher your rank in our online clowder of cats! (Yes, clowder of cats, Google it )

Promotion Ladder goes as follows:

Newbie: 0 posts upon joining
Kitten: 5 posts and 1 day of membership
Young Cat: 20 posts and 5 days of membership
Adult Cat: 100 posts and 10 days of membership
Alpha cat: 300 posts and 40 days of membership
Super Cat: 700 posts and 90 days of membership
Top Cat: 1200 posts and 120 days of membership

Any benefits associated with these?

The longer we know you, the more you can do on the site.

• Private Messages begin with Kitten status
• Access to the IMO forum begins with Adult Cat status (though always limited to 18 years of age).
• Young Cats and above are allowed to edit their own posts for 120 minutes after submissions
• Access to the Showing & Ethical Breeding forum begins with Young cat status.
• Having a link in your signature is limited to Adult Cat and above. Please make sure the link is discreet and not spammy.

Your title will change when you attain the number of posts, but full access to any perks will not come if you are not in membership the minimum numbers of days for the usergroup level. It may take up to 24 hours for the system to grant full access.

Anne , I'm steadily creeping towards 1200 posts and would like to request that I remain a Super Cat, please? I don't know if it's possible to override the system, or if such a thing would be frowned upon, but I like being a Supercat.

I don't think we've ever had that kind of request. Let me look into this and let you know

Back with an answer! Unfortunately, that can't be done at this point. The system automatically handles this and once you reach 1200 posts your ribbon title will change.

However, you can add a "Super Cat" custom title! Just visit your personal details page and add a custom title of your choice

Sorry about that and thanks for drawing our attention to the problem! There was something wrong with the display priorities between the two groups. Essentially, you are/were a Young Cat but the ribbon display wasn't reflecting that properly. I just fixed that.

If you look at the first post, there is also a time requirement, not just the number of posts.

When I first saw "kitten" under my name, I thought it was because I had kittens, not grown cats. Then I started looking at what was under other's names and realized it had to do with the length of time they have been members.
