Any suggestions?

I found a piece of carpet fiber in my cats stool. I try to vacuum weekly, but the carpet fibers tend to fall off of the scratching posts. Today in the blink of an eye, I saw him eat another piece of fiber off the ground. Why is he doing this?

Is he deficient in something in his diet?  How can I prevent him from doing this in the future?

I have moved the scratching posts to the garage until I can put on new carpeting. I've tried scratching posts with carpeting and scratching posts with sisal rope and he will chew on both.

Will adding grass to his diet help? Green beans?

Cats like to eat things on the floor.  They're like little vacuum cleaners.  Are the fibers from one particular place in the carpet?  Can you cover it with an area rug?  How old is your kitty?

My cat is eating throw rugs. She pulls the fibers out and eats them. Then vomits later.. She eats dental floss out of the trash, also. Help!
