My cat has a GI condition and can only eat the food he is prescribed, but he eats everything he sees. (eg. plastic, plants, paper) my dad keeps him in one room with his food and litter so he doesn’t eat anything harmful, but it would be more ideal to let him roam the house freely without having to worry about him getting sick. He also does throw up quite a bit which I’m assuming has to do with his condition but I’m not sure. (I’m new to this forum I hope I’m writing the question in the right spot) so any input on what to do would be helpful. Thank you :)

I read that cats eating foreign objects could be a sign of anemia. If he continues to throw up, the prescription food might not be working and he may need to try another prescription food/different brand.

If it's like food obsession, maybe a treat ball might help? There are all kinds of treats and some are designed for conditions. But if you can't find a treat you can put his own kibble in the ball too.

What is the GI condition? What prescription food are you feeding?

Pica is another condition in which cats eat non-food stuff.
