Pregnant cat!

Hey! So my Blinx just turned 1 and is about 31 days into her pregnancy. It’s the first time she’s ever been pregnant. Today she started licking her “area” like crazy and is now leaking some cloudy clearish thick liquid. She has not been wanting to eat as much and has been a little vocal and seeking more attention. Any ideas at all? I’ve attached some photos.

Is this coming from her vagina or anus? It looks like poop.

I believe that it’s definitely coming from her vagina. She keeps licking it.

That is NOT normal discharge. She needs to see a vet immediately — as in this is an emergency!

She may have open pyometra, which is a bacterial infection in the uterus which causes pus to build up and leak out. It can cause a rupture, sepsis, and death if not treated right away. The treatment is a spay to remove her uterus.

If it’s not pyometra, then she may be miscarrying — or both. A miscarriage due to the pyometra.

She actually gave birth to SEVEN kittens. They’re so cute! Very healthy. Found homes for 4 of them and kept 3! Mom cat is doing great! Definitely wasn’t Pyometra.

I had a cat that gave birth to four healthy kittens inside, but the day before she was literally running at full speed back and fourth in the backyard.

You would think that she would be in a more relaxed and preparatory mood just a matter of hours before delivery.

Is this typical?

Blinx showed like zero signs lol. She was huge! But then her mucus plug came out the night before she gave birth and she just pushed them all out. Like nothing. Not even a whimper. She’s always been a really unique cat though.
