prednisolone and high triglycerides

My 3 year old cat has been on prednisolone for chronic pancreatitis since September and he has very high triglycerides. Has anyone experienced this. He recently had ultrasound and vet set pancreas was prominent but he doesn't have pancreatitis any longer.

Can you ask the vet if he wants him weaned off the steroid, or at least cut down? You might also check into a low-fat food for him, that may help. Treats such as thinly sliced deli turkey may help him to feel full. The fat content is listed on the cans/bag so try to find the lowest you can that he will eat. All the luck!

We are going to try prescription food as he’s currently on fancy feast medleys and it’s pretty high in protein and doesn’t have that much fat. Hoping to wean him off steroids. His triglyceride number was 1600. The vet thought that was so high even taking into account the steroid. He checked thyroid and that number was normal and he’s not diabetic.
