Prazosin - Urinary Blockage

Prazosin. How many days should this medicine be administered for recovery from urinary blockage? One vet said 5 days, another said until its gone. ‍

What did the Vet who prescribed it for your cat say? That's what I would go by. Was your cat blocked from stones? Did he have a catheter put in? The reason you may be seeing different things may be based on the medical history of the cat being treated...not sure.

Seems my boy was on it for nearly two weeks if I recall. But I would contact your prescribing vet to make sure.

It is a good med to relax the urethra and prevent spasms.

My cat is now on prazosin for over 2 weeks, since he can't pee very well. Vet prescibed Diazepam as well.
